Our Story

The Harbour Totterdown is a new community initiative in the building formerly known as Totterdown Methodist Church. In August 2022 the Methodist congregation closed their doors after 150 years of continuous use as a Methodist building. The following month Lighthouse Vineyard Church began gathering there for their weekly community meals and, along with Severn Vineyard Church, uses the building as its administrative hub. In addition, many community outreach projects are run from the space, including the BS4 Foodbank outlet, Bristol Storehouse a refugee Welcome Hub and a Music Psychotherapy service.

On 9th August 2024, Lighthouse Vineyard took on the ownership of the site with a view to developing it into a community hub – the birth of ‘The Harbour Totterdown’.

Lighthouse Vineyard are applying for funding to supplement the funds raised to date in order to renovate and update the entire building. Visit our JustGiving page to make a donation.

The vision for the building is that it will become a community hub:

  • the home of a variety of charitable organisations sharing office spaces and resources

  • a venue for social gatherings including parties, weddings, community group meetings, etc.

  • a venue for exhibitions, art fairs, music, comedy, theatre productions

  • a community cafe and soft play catering for people with additional needs

If you would like to book one of our spaces, or donate to the renovations, we would love to hear from you! You can visit our JustGiving page here.
